Inspired by the Max Ernst painting Attirement of the Bride (1940), my collaborator Lane Letourneau and I brought the central figure to life. Together we built and photographed this costume on the streets of Rome. The intention was to provide a form of autonomy to a sexualized figure; allowing the muse to function outside the male gaze, on their own terms.
